So I was broswing cars.com as I usually do when I’m at work when I came upon this Lincoln LS with what’s described as a sport package. Does anyone know what the sport package entails? I was thinking for just under 6 grand with 87k on the clock it would be something fun to take autocrossing/DD

Wikipedia says this about the 2000-2002, “The sport package for only an extra $1000.00, would give you stiffer suspension, 17” rims and a “slap shift” selecter.”

Suspension, rims, tires, appearance, the usual.

A: I’ve heard these were available as a manual
B: I was passed by an LS that was lowered and had different wheels, no other modifications, and it looked REALLY good. I’d probably want to simplify the grill myself though.

If you can deal with one of the worst automatic transmissions ever built and jaguar electronics, they’re not bad.

Yes they are, but V6 models only.

Using, and a part that makes it shit to use is prone to cracking.

Yeah the manual was only on the V6 but I do agree that with a few tasteful mods they can be quite imposing

Run, don't walk away.
Every person I've known who's had one had MAJOR issues with them. The transmission was biggest, but IIRC I'm pretty sure they had cooling issues as well.

Curiously enough the automatics came with a small brake pedal. My dad had one of these on lease back when they were new, and it was that same blue color. He never had any problems with it, but then he only had it for the two year lease. It was a really nice car to drive and I really like how they look, but by all accounts the long term reliability is woeful.

If you have any questions ask me. I’ve had one for almost 3 years now. Know them inside and out.
